Week of 4/8: Reviewing Atomic Structure

Today begins our end of year review and for this first week, we will be reviewing atomic structure and ions.

Monday 4/8 - Students will be reminded about their semester project, then we will review the identification of subatomic particles and how individual elements can be identified using these particles. Students will complete a worksheet.

Tuesday 4/9  - Students will complete a virtual lab to practice atomic nomenclature and the nature of each of the three primary subatomic particles. The simulation for the virtual lab is located here.

Wednesday 4/10 - The class will debrief the lab then segue into a review of isotopes and ions. Students will complete a review sheet covering the math of identifying the number of each subatomic particle in any isotope or ion.

Thursday 4/11 - Class will start with a remediation quiz covering waves. This is the second to last of the extra credit quizzes. Just a reminder that in order to take the quiz, students must first complete the remediation worksheet. The second half of class will consist of us reviewing the structure and meaning of the periodic table. A practice sheet covering the periodic table will be distributed at the end of class and will be due about 10 minutes into class on Friday.

Friday 4/12 - Quiz covering Atomic Structure, Ions, and Isotopes.
